General Questions & Answers

If your question is not answered below – just drop us a line or give us a call!

Q.  Do you travel outside of one hour from your studio to photograph a wedding?
A. Occasionally we do – but it is rare.  Given our proximity to the M4 we can cover a big territory within an hour, from the outskirts of London down into Wales, into Oxfordshire & South into Hampshire.

Q.  Do you do a disc-only wedding package?
A.  Sorry, but no.  Our wedding service doesn’t end with taking & editing your photographs.  We also design & print your album.  That way you can be assured of a top quality album which has been colour matched all the way through the production process, from image capture to printing.

Q.  Are there any limits on the photographs you take?
A.  Not really.  In practice we will present you with between 150 & 200 images, but this is very dependent upon your day & what you have planned, but you get to see all the good images which are not duplicates.

Q.  Are there any limits on the number of hours you will be with us?
A.  Our aim is to give you a story of your day in photographs.  To do that we need to be with you throughout your day.  The coverage as standard includes up to 12 hours attendance on the day, but this will vary depending on your day’s timings.  Almost all weddings require less than 12 hours but a very few require more.  If for some reason your day requires more than 12 hours coverage, additional hours will be charged at £100 per hour.

Q.  What kind of equipment do you use?
A.  All our cameras, lenses & flash equipment are from the Canon professional digital series.  We carry backs ups of each important piece including having three camera bodies with us on the day.  Just in case.  In addition, we back up your images as we shoot your day, ensuring we have a back up before we leave your venue.  At our studio all work is done on Apple Macs using Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop.  All work is backed up as we go, including an off-site copy.  Again, just in case!

Q.  Can I have a mixture of colour & black & white images?
A.  No.  Only kidding.  One of the beauties of digital photography is our ability to easily move between colour & black & white images.  All images will be available in either black & white, colour or sepia.  In practice we will choose a few which we think really should be in black & white or sepia.

Q.  Are there any hidden extras?
A.  We hope not!  The last thing we want is any surprises for you.  So we will run through all prices & inclusions when we meet with you.

Q.  Do I need to feed you both on the day?
A.  Yes please!  We work very hard on your photographs & most of the time do not have the chance to stop for lunch.  Therefore, we ask that you provide food & drink (non-alcoholic!) for us when you sit down for your meal.

Q.  Can I give you a huge long list of photographs to cover on the day?
A.  Of course make us aware of any groups shots & anything really special you want to ensure we capture.  But also remember why you are thinking of booking us.  You liked the look of our portfolio & the range of images we obtain on the day.  If we are working through a pre-defined list, that could mean it leaves less time to do some of the more creative shots which will make your wedding photography just that little bit different.

Q.  How many groups shots should I have?
A.  To a degree that depends upon your family & friends.  But we would recommend no more than 12.

Q.  I’ve been to a wedding before & the photographer kept us hanging around for ages whilst they set up the group shots.  How do you make sure you won’t do that?
A.  Pretty simply, we agree beforehand a list of groups, keep them to the recommended 12 or less & enlist your ushers & bridesmaids to round people up on the day for their group shot.  We normally finish group shots in less than 30 minutes.  More importantly, we have fun when doing them which means your family & friends won’t see it as having been a chore.  This is also the benefit of having two photographers on the day – one will set up each group shot, the other will take the photograph.
