FAQ - Dog photography
Where are you based and do you travel?
My studio is in Lambourn, Berkshire and I will travel to locations within 30 minutes which means I can cover locations in West Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire. If you would like a session further afield, please get in touch.
How many photographs will you take?
My aim is to supply you with only the best from the shoot - typically this is between 15 and 30 images. All images will be supplied in both colour and black and white conversions.
How long will a dog portrait session take?
This entirely depends upon your dog, the location and any specific requests you have. I have completed studio sessions in 30 minutes where I have managed to take over 50 beautiful images. I've had other sessions take much much longer! Your session is not timed - but my average shoot time in the studio is an hour. This extends slightly when on location as we will wander between areas of your chosen location to get a variety of images.
When will we get our images?
At the time of booking of your session, we will also book you in to come and view your images at the studio. At this ordering session you get to see your images, choose your prints as well as any frames or other wall art you would like.
Do I need to bring anything?
Yes please! Please bring some high value treats for your dog(s). These need to be treats that they will perform for! You and I will use these to encourage them to hold position and turn their heads. If you have any leads, collars or clothing you would like them to wear or change into, please also bring those.
Any advice prior to the session?
You know your dog best. If you think they would benefit from a walk beforehand, give them a walk. Young dogs can get very sleepy after feeding - this can make for some great images - but we might also want some of them with their eyes open! So talk to me about the timing of their feeds and I will try to select a time that will work.
